Presenting at WIPCE 2025: He Rākau Taumatua

Ngā Pou a Tāne will join with global Indigenous whānau at the World Indigenous Peoples’ Conference on Education (WIPCE) 2025, in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland from 16-20 November 2025 to present He Rākau Taumatua: Māori Forestry VET Leadership Framework. A newly researched and developed tool under the Māori Forestry Leadership implementation pathway - the job of the framework is to help target and build leadership capacity for Māori Forestry as a tikanga-led forestry domain to make a difference. The framework has been developed by Tonkin & Taylor in association with Ngā Pou a Tāne and the Food & Fibre Centre of Vocational Excellence with input from Indigenous forest keepers around the world.

Māori Forestry Leadership is one of five brand new pathways that were announced on 15th May 2025 to build the capability and lay new foundations towards 2040 strategic imperatives for Māori Forestry.

WIPCE is held every three years. as a celebration of Indigenous excellence in education - it typically draws 3,000 plus delegates towards the latest developments.
