Launch of He Rautaki Ngahere Māori

Since February 2024, Ngā Pou a Tāne has been consulting on a national Māori forestry strategy. With the consultation phase completed in 2024, and Phase 2 implementation action plans now being investigated, the strategy was formally launched on 15th May 2025 at the School of Forestry at Toi Ohomai, Rotorua in front of Ngā Pou a Tāne members, and supporters.

He Rautaki Ngahere Māori 2040, has been developed as an overarching summary of several plans and documents including “Tū Mai Rā! Te Whānau o Tāne” (the strategy consultation document released for consultation in February 2024) and five action plans which are being drafted for the Board.
